Bringing a greener future to Winchester

Acorn Bioenergy is consulting on plans to develop an anaerobic digestion plant near the village of Littleton.

Acorn Bioenergy held a public drop-in exhibition event about the development of the anaerobic digestion plant on Littleton Millennium Memorial Hall, The Hall Way, Littleton Winchester SO22 6QL. This information-sharing event gave members of the local community a chance to find out more about the proposals for the plant at Three Maids.

After listening to your feedback, we have now submitted a planning application for the anaerobic digestion plant to the local council.

Location

The proposed development would be located on agricultural land immediately east of the A272 and west of the A34, close to the Three Maids roundabout.

In addition to the hardstanding required for the AD facility, a new access track would be constructed to provide site access.

The location has been chosen as Acorn Bioenergy prioritise sites with good access to farms that can provide high quality crops and agricultural residues, and ones that will have a minimal visual impact and other impacts on neighbours.

There are very few immediate neighbours, with the majority of homes in the local area being more than one mile away.
